Effective Weight Loss Made Simple

There is an overwhelming amount of information out there about weight loss, and it can be extremely overwhelming. Which diet fad is the best? Which workout is the most effective? When can I eat what? The simple fact is that it is not as complicated as the companies getting rich selling products want you to think.

The Simple Facts About Losing Weight
There are two main things that need to be focused on when it comes to weight loss. They are the calories that you take in and the calories that you burn. You take in calories by eating, and you burn calories constantly throughout the day, more when you are exercising though. Neither of those things is new. We have known this for a long time. So, why is it so difficult for people to lose weight? For starters, portions are out of control. We eat incredible amounts of food, far more than we need to survive, or even be satisfied. Second, the food that we are eating typically lacks healthy nutrients, which starves our bodies of what it needs to function properly. Third, we are getting lazy. Our physical activity levels are dropping rapidly. So, we are eating too much of the wrong foods, and not moving around nearly enough. How do we fix it?

Portion Control
Like I mentioned before, we eat way too much food. I know that when I go out to eat, they bring me enough food for at least 2 meals. So, why not make it 2 meals? Don't sit there and eat until you are full, and then get the rest wrapped up. Ask for a too go container right away. Take half of your food and wrap it up for another meal. OK, that is great for when you go out. What about when you are home? For starters, put away the big plates. There is a good chance that you have big plates and little plates. The little ones should fit plenty of food for a meal. What can you eat? This is where the diet fads cause problems. I am going to make this as simple as possible. Eat fruits and vegetables, lean meat, drink water, stay away from soda and fried foods. Think about it like this. Every food that you eat either brings life or death. Healthy foods bring life. They give you nutrients, feed your body what it needs. Dead foods, well, kill you. They plug your arteries, raise your blood sugar, and more. Think before you eat.

Exercise, Which Is The Best?
A lot of people put off exercising because they say they don't know what to do. I believe that the best exercise for you is the one that you will actually do. I could hand you the ultimate workout guide, and if you didn't do it, you wouldn't lose any weight. However, if you walk a few days a week, you should see some results.
