Are You Stuck Losing Weight?

Do not get discouraged. I too have been in this situation in the past. And, it is possible to overcome. But there are some things that should be considered.

First, is constantly walking their scales to see if you lost more weight? If this is the case, STOP! Do not weigh yourself too often, or you may feel a little depressed. Even if you lose several pounds quickly enough at the beginning of your weight loss program, the closer you are to reach your goal of losing weight, the weight tends to fall. This is partly due to the fact that your body will probably not be a lot of fat to lose! Now you have more lean tissue.

Also, while you work the muscles in your body become more developed. And as most of us know, muscle weighs more than fat! Then there are days that keep liquids and weighs only one or two more than you did the day before books! Let's face it! The scales can be misleading. I do my best to stay away from them!

A better way to judge whether you lose weight is to control the way your clothes. If a pair of pants fit loosely now a few weeks ago, then chances are that you are making progress towards your goal! Another thing to keep in mind, too, if your goal is weight loss is reasonable for your body type. Are you trying to lose more weight than your body can not afford to lose?

Keep track of what you eat

Second, keep track of what you eat and make sure you exercise. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume! In fact, to lose one pound of fat, you must burn approximately 3500 calories! It usually takes 3 days to a week. You can try to control your weight while controlling food intake. Ideally, however, both should watch what you eat and burn calories through exercise, if you really want to lose those last few pounds.

By tracking what you eat, you may discover that you are consuming more calories than what I had imagined. Stay away from the chips and soda! But do not starve yourself either! If you eat too few calories, your body will try to protect themselves by slowing down your metabolism and your fat cling to survive.

If you continue to exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet, but those last few pounds fall yet, maybe you need to give your metabolism a boost by increasing the amount of exercise you do, or increasing the intensity of your training. If you often walk for 30 minutes, why not try to add another 15 minutes to your walks? Or, instead of walking, how about giving the risk?

Add weight training to your workouts, so if you have not done. Weight lifting helps build muscle mass, which in turn burns more calories than fat does. Sometimes just changing your exercise routine a little weight loss will begin again.

If you seem to be stuck on a plateau of weight loss, do not lose hope! Remember:

- Do not weigh yourself every day! Once a week or less often!

- Pay attention to your diet! Eat healthy and balanced meals. Avoid excess fat and calories. No children to eat!

- Drink lots of water! Water helps to speed up metabolism. Also, if you drink a glass before each meal to help curb your appetite and encourage you to eat less.

- Get plenty of exercise. If necessary, increase the duration of your workouts and / or the intensity of your workouts. Vary the types of exercise to incorporate into your workouts, too.
